After
many months of hard work, FRVTA has been successful
in passing legislation that makes it mandatory for
Dealers and Manufacturers to have a written agreement
in place in order to do business after October 1, 2007.

The law sets base line requirements for all agreements
but also allows for negotiation between the dealer
and manufacturer above that base line.
A dealer task
force began negotiations with RVIA in November on the
terms of the agreement. After long months of negotiation
and working through both Senate and House Committees
the bill was passed and sent to the Governor. Our thanks
to our sponsor in the Senate, Mike Haridopolos, District
26 and Representative Andy Gardiner, House District
40 for their hard work and support.
We would also like
to thank Rep. Ellen Bogdanoff, District 91 and Rep.
Larry Cretul, District 22 for their help in making
this law a reality. “This law will provide the
basis for the formation of long term partnerships between
dealers and their manufacturers” stated Sherry
Perkins, FRVTA President and Owner of Tri-AM RV in
Ocala. “It is fair and reasonable for both groups”.
