Myers area averages 85 degrees, at least 10 degrees warmer than the average Florida spring. It is considered a water-filled sinkhole fed by a spring vent below the pool surface. The area surrounding the spring was developed as a spa in 1946, and the Warm Mineral Springs Building Complex was added to the National List of Historic Places in 2019.
