Top 3 Dog Beaches in Florida’s Gulf Coast
There is no such thing as an ugly beach in Florida, in fact, many of our East and West coast beaches are award winning. While all of our beaches have a lot to offer for wholesome family fun, most of our Gulf Coast beaches are not dog-friendly. Read this blog before you park the RV and head to the beach with your four-legged family member.
Fort De Soto Park

Fort De Soto Park boasts 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected keys and offers a range of activities from hiking to kayaking. There is even an old Spanish fort that you can explore. Dogs are allowed all over the park provided you keep them on a leash. The exception being the paw playground and the dog beach, where dogs are allowed off the leash. If you can’t enjoy Fort De Soto Park all in one day, there is an RV campground with full hook-ups, but make sure you reserve your campsite in advance.
Bonita Beach Dog Park

Located along the edge of Lovers Key State Park, in beautiful Fort Myers is Bonita Beach Dog Park. Dogs of all sizes come to dig in the sand and frolic in the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. While this beach is lacking in accommodations it makes up for it in beauty, that said, be sure to pack a cooler with plenty of water for you and your pets because there isn’t any running water on site.
Brohard Paw Park

Where: 1600 S Harbor Drive Venice, FL, US 34285
Brohard Paw Park is the only dog-friendly beach in Venice, Florida. Equipped with picnic tables, showers and water fountains for both dogs and humans everyone can make themselves comfortable at this little beach. Venice, beaches are known for their abundance of shark teeth, so bring your sieve and let your dog do a little digging because you never know what you will find.
