Whether you are traveling with friends or family, finding just the right campgrounds is important. Easterlin Park is one of the oldest regional parks in the state with a great central location. The park has been designated as an urban wilderness area with campgrounds, RV campgrounds and a disc golf course.
The park covers 46.6 acres with 250-year-old cypress trees an impressive 100 feet in height. Easterlin is an incredible example of the beauty of a mixed cypress forest. The scenic lake is gorgeous. The area is mostly undisturbed due to the thick ferns, cabbage palms, red maples, wild coffee and dahoon holly shielding the area. The park is included in the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. This is a statewide system covering approximately 2,000 miles dedicated to walking trails.
During the migratory months, you can observe cedar waxwings, worm-eating warblers and yellow-billed cuckoos. The park is an urban refuge to help protect the wildlife of Florida with numerous habitats preserved for the birds. This beautiful piece of nature is just a short drive to Atlantic Ocean beaches and downtown Fort Lauderdale. You can explore several different beaches by driving for about 30 minutes in numerous different directions.
