Bring your furry family members

If you are traveling with your furry companions, pets are welcome to stay with you while RV camping. You will need to keep your pets on a leash and clean up after them. Pets are not allowed in the cabins, on the beach, or in the playground areas. You also need to make sure your pets are well behaved and quiet especially during the quiet times at night. Be sure your pets are up to date on their shots and you can walk your pups around the campground and let them play and even visit other friendly pets staying on the grounds. Be sure to provide plenty of cool water and shade for your pets while you’re out exploring – the Florida sunshine can be intense especially if your pup is not used to the weather.

There are 27 sites that are accessible for RV’s up to 35 feet and offer electric and water hook-ups. There is also space for a primitive youth campground for tent camping. The park features a nice, recently updated bathhouse, ADA accessible amenities, and a boat ramp. The campsite offers a picnic table, grill, and clothesline for wet towels and clothes. Most sites are not paved but offer a sandy location. Handicap sites provide a paved landing and will need to be reserved ahead of time. The kids will love sitting around the campfire in the evenings roasting marshmallows and singing songs.

Things to do at Faver-Dykes State Park

While RV camping at Faver-Dykes, plan to spend some time fishing in the Pellicer Creek or walk along the nature trails. There are two ½ mile loop trails you can follow, and you will need to be aware of ticks and mosquitoes and wear appropriate clothing. Families also enjoy riding around the lake in a kayak or canoe and exploring the marshes or watching the birds. Throughout the season you will see wood storks, herons, white ibis, eagles and falcons in addition to a variety of songbirds. The two covered pavilions are great for a family gathering and the kids can run around the playground and get rid of some energy before heading off to bed.
