Florida State Parks Set to Reopen

News

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection announced that they are implementing the first phase in the reopening plan for Florida State Parks effective Monday, May 4th. During the reopening, the DEP has assured the public that they will be taking measures to ensure the protection of the staff and the public.

The information is met with excitement by many Florida residents who have been under strict stay-at-home orders during the COVID-19 shutdown. The opportunity to get outside and breathe the fresh air of our State Parks has been at the top of the list for many and it looks like their wishes are about to come true although there are still restrictions in place.

According to the Florida State Parks website, there will be limited hours, capacity, and amenities available during Phase 1 of the reopening. The limited partial openings apply to 80 of the State Parks and trails throughout the state. There is a complete list available on their website with links to the individual park pages for more information.
