In general, Ponce de Leon is an excellent place for an overall recreational experience. Nestled just north of Ponce de Leon, is Vortex Spring, which is full of recreational activities and amenities. It is situated on a 420-acre playground that generates roughly 28 million gallons of what’s referred to as the crystal “gin” clear water on a daily basis. It’s a great place for deep sea diving, snorkeling or swimming in its clear fresh waters. There are diving classes available for all skill levels and needs including those with special needs.
The best thing about these waters is that the temperature is always around 68° throughout the entire year. It also has two underground water flows in the main spring, which is said to generate close to 14 million gallons of water each and every day. So if you’re ready to put your RV on some of the state’s most popular highways, it will be a trip worth taking. Just load up the RV and take a straight shot out to one of the state’s most beautiful resorts and campgrounds.
Nature Walks
For those who enjoy nature walks, there are two self-guided nature trails that lead visitors through a hardwood forest. Visitors can be exposed to the local ecology and can also learn about the local wildlife that roams about the area. For those who enjoy seasonal nature walks, they are also available and guided by a local park ranger.

Are you planning a group event? Then you’ll love the Pavilion. The Pavilion is a great place to hold a company picnic, a family reunion, a wedding or other gathering for groups. It can accommodate up to 150 people and also has a wonderful view of the overall resort.
If you enjoy recreational campsites you’ll be happy to know that you can stay at one of the lodging facilities or you can enjoy an overnight stay in your RV.
